Learning 4 Life @your library®

The curriculum taught through the school library program is found in all content-area standards. Reading comprehension and literature, research and study skills, and educational technology skills are integrated into the classroom curriculum.

In addition, the skills and strategies taught in the library are found in the following documents and  initiatives:

American Association of School Librarians: Reading4Life @your library: Position Statement on Library Media Specialist's Role in Reading

American Association of School Librarians' Standards for the 21st-century Learner

Partnership for 21st Century Skills

Classroom-library collaborative planning and teaching are the most effective way for educators to integrate the resources of the school library and the Internet into the classroom curriculum.
